Wigan Warriors Community Foundation are pleased to announce details of the fourth annual 'Wigan Festival of Rugby'. The event is well known for being one of the biggest single day Rugby League festivals in the UK and this year it will take place on Sunday 29th July.

Around 40 teams will converge on two sites across Wigan to participate in a fun festival which will see hundreds of players take part. Due to high demand, this year's festival has been expanded to include Cubs, under 7s and Open Age Touch.

The 2012 Festival of Rugby builds on the success and legacy from previous year's events which attracted junior teams from across the North West, and this year's festival will definitely be one not to miss, including barbeques, bars, live music and entertainment.

Speaking about the Festival of Rugby, Wigan Warriors Development Officer Amanda Wilkinson said:

"The annual festival of Rugby has gone from strength-to-strength. We hope to provide the best experience yet for all of the teams this year. As well as local Clubs, we have already received bookings from teams across Yorkshire, the North West and the West Midlands."

The festival will be split across two locations, with Cubs, under7's, 8's, 9's, 10's and 11's playing at Hindley (St Peters Pavilion, Hindley, Wigan, WN2 3DN) and under 12's, 13's, 14's, 15's, 16's and adult touch at Wigan St Judes (Parsons Meadow, Poolstock, Wigan, WN3 5UB).

Entry to the festival costs £12 per squad of 12 players whilst games will be 9-a-side. All teams that take part will receive an exclusive offer of discounted ticket to Wigan's Stobart Super League Clash with Castleford Tigers on Friday 27th July at the DW Stadium, kick off 8pm.
