Earlier this week the Wigan Warriors Foundation team and the Warriors first team coaching staff joined together for the first of this season's Coach Development nights
Over 100 coaches were in attendance at the Orrell training ground and the Amateur Club coaches were given an insight into the coaching philosophies of the Warriors staff.
Sessions were led by Shaun Wane on the defence side of the game and Iestyn Harris and Paul Deacon on the attacking side. Also Mark Bitcon, Wigan and England's Head of Sport Science, delivered a session on the benefits of different training styles.
Shaun Wane said:
"We are hoping to put more of these coaching nights together, the night was a great success and I hope the coaches took something out of it.
"We would like to try help the coaches improve the core skills of kids and hopefully develop more Super League players for the Warriors in the future. The foundation team do a great job and the skills and philosophies they teach on the summer camps will help to develop and improve the kids in the Wigan area. Any child that is looking to improve their game should book on the camps."
We catch up with Shaun to find out the latest from the Wigan Warriors Treament Room as the Magic Weekend draws closer.
Wigan Warriors have received an initial allocation of 2,100 tickets for the East Stand (unreserved seating behind the posts) for the Super League 2013 fixture with Widnes Vikings to be played on Friday 7th June 2013 at Stobart Stadium Halton (8.00pm kick off).
Wigan Warriors Community Partnership with Wigan YOT spend a day with the Greater Manchester Fire Service.
Englands elite squad members will be lucking to impress at the Magic Weekend following their recent training camp.
As Wigan prepare for the Magic Weekend Shaun Wane has told us there is still improvement to come from his side.
