Local community group the Golden Mile are set to host a Christmas Market and Fayre at Central Park on Saturday 8th December.
A great family event is in store with a range of activities for young and old.
Lisa Middlehurst, Children's Centre Co-ordinator at Westfield, a founding member of the Golden Mile group said; "We're really looking forward to putting on our first ever Christmas Market and Fayre which we hope will become an annual event.
"We've got lots of fun activities and it's free for everyone to attend. We really hope that members of the public are able to join us for what promises to be a day to remember."
The Christmas market and fayre includes a free funfair, crafts, gifts, various stalls, face painting and nail art not forgetting Santa's grotto and some very special guests including Mighty Max and JJ.
The event will be held at Central Park home to Wigan Warriors and Central Training, the new community based work academy located on the site of the former PEMBEC School on Montrose Avenue, Pemberton.
The Golden Mile group is a collection of charities and organisations in and around the Pemberton/Douglas Wards who work to improve outcomes for the local community.
This will be the first multi agency event, bringing together all partner agencies, communities and non member partners. Proceeds from the day will go to Joining Jack.
Chris Hayes, Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust said; "We've got a bumper line up for the day and I'd urge as many people as possible to come down. It is also great to be able to raise funds for Joining Jack which is a tremendous charity that has touched the hearts of so many Wiganers over the past year.
"It's quite fitting to have an event for Joining Jack at Central Park with the Wigan Warriors now based there. We'd like to thank the Warriors and fellow Golden Mile members Central Training for allowing us to use Central Park for the event."
The Golden Mile Christmas market and fayre is from 10am to 2pm on Saturday 8th December at Central Park, Montrose Avenue, Pemberton.
