Lewis Looking to Kick On in 2014

2013 was a year young Full Back Lewis Tierney will remember as he trained with the First Team, was given a First Team squad number and made his debut for the First Team in the away win at Widnes and he went on to make three appearances for the First Team.

Lewis was also regular in the 19's and played his part in the Academy's successful Grand Final winning season and was once again selected in the England Academy squad.

Looking back at 2013, Lewis told us,

"It was a massive achievement for me last year just to get a game and I was happy with that and hopefully in 2014 I can do the same again. My main focus is on the 19's and improving my game and maybe also get a game or two in the First Team as well hopefully.

"I wasn't really expecting to make my debut last year, I was just chufffed about signing my first team contract and to train and be around the squad which was my goal so to get a game was really special."

Lewis admitted he and the squad are looking forward to the arrival of Matty Bowen who joins up with Wigan before heading out to Florida,

"He is obviously a top quality experienced International and for the likes of myself and Ryan Hampshire, it is a great opportunity to learn off him. Sam has gone but he has been replaced by another world class player. I am looking forward to watching him train and it is great to just be around those sort of players."
