Wigan Warriors supported the Tom Sephton Memorial Trophy Day at Crosfields Amateur Club on National Armed Forces Day yesterday.
Despite the wet conditions there was another strong turnout for the amateur rugby league festival. The day saw a continuation of the Armed Forces celebrations which kicked off at the DW Stadium on Friday night ahead of Wigan's game against St Helens, where the forces sides were all in attendance.
In the first fixture the Army Rugby League ladies defeated Crosfields ladies with Wigan stars John Bateman and Jack Hughes on hand to present the winners medals (pictured below).
The second contest saw the 1st Battalion Duke of Lancaster's Regiment side's training session with the Warriors coaches pay dividends as they came out on top against the Mercian Regiment to claim the Coldridge Cup.
Finally, the Royal Logistics Corps went head to head with a Crosfield Select side in memoriam of Private Thomas Sephton who sadly passed away in 2010 after being wounded in an explosion whilst on patrol in Afghanistan.
The 2013 double winners also brought along the Super League trophy and Challenge Cup to the event to help raise money for the ABF Soldiers Charity.
