The Wigan Warriors Community Foundation have recently delivered a fantastic 6 week programme in Kendal.
Foundation coaches Tommy Gallagher and Tom Fitzpatrick have been making the journey North every Friday for the last half-term to work with young people from The Queen Katherine High School in Kendal.
Friday saw the curtain close on a fantastic 6 weeks with a special day at CWM FX Central Park and a stadium tour at the DW Stadium before taking in the Wigan game against Wakefield.
Commenting on the fantastic initiative, Ben Griffin, Assistant Head Teacher at The Queen Katherine High School said:
"It's had a really positive impact at our school and the local community, the young lads have grown in confidence and to top it all off they're all better rugby players for the experience. We've had loads of feedback from parents about how fantastic the Foundation coaches have been, and we're looking forward to having them back in the future."
Warriors Foundation Community Development Officer, Tommy Gallagher said:
"It's been fantastic working up in Kendal, the young lads have been superb and we've really enjoyed coaching them. We're really proud that we are helping to grow the sport up in Cumbria. Alongside working with The Queen Katherine High School we have also completed work with six other schools in Kendal recently and hope to work with more and more going forwards.
