  • Wigan prepared for talented Wire

  • Shaun Wane speaks ahead of Warrington game

  • Wigan Warriors face Warrington Wolves at the DW Stadium tomorrow, 8pm K.O.

Shaun Wane says his side will come up against a ‘talented’ Warrington team when they sides collide at the DW tomorrow night.

Table toppers Warrington make the short journey up the M6 to tackle Wigan and Wane admits he has been impressed with the Wolves so far this year.

“They’ve got some talent,” he said. “The players they’ve got from the NRL in Gidley, Simms and Sandow and from Hull with Lineham and Westerman so they’ve gone out and bought some really good players. We have a slightly different approach at Wigan but it’s still two good teams going at it.”

Continuing he said: “They’ve attacked really well and are a very good team. They’re scoring lots of points and winning games. Their game against Hull was a very close game and they could have got that.

“At the moment on form they’re the best team in the competition. Regardless of where we’re at it’s always two good teams that like to play and it just adds to the spice this Friday.”

Both teams will play in their third game inside a week after the Easter weekend but Wane says his team will be ready.

“Tony (Smith) is in the same boat as us, it’s been a tough Easter. They got turned over at Hull and it was a long travel. They won’t get much into the players and neither will we but that’s just the way it is after Easter.

“We’re going to go into the game confident after the performance against St Helens. We know that if we concentrate and defend well then we can trouble teams. You look at the way Warrington and their halves are playing and you know that they’re going to be tough to beat.”

Wigan Warriors face Warrington Wolves at the DW Stadium on Friday 1 April, 8pm. Tickets for the game are available online HERE, from the DW Stadium Ticket Office and the Ticket Hotline – 0871 6633 552.
