First Business Club event of 2017 a success
Warriors looking to grow Business Club in 2017
- Next event on Monday 13th February in Manchester during the Warriors’ World Club Challenge preparations
The Wigan Warriors Business Club kicked off the 2017 season on Monday with a successful quiz event which encouraged attendees to develop new business connections.
With the Club looking to grow the Business Club throughout the next 12-months in order to provide more opportunities for our membership base, several prospective new members were invited along to experience their first event.
The evening began with an address from Rugby General Manager and Club Director Kris Radlinski who provided an insight into the team’s preparations for the new season including the recent ‘Road to Nowhere’ pre-season trip where players were split into teams and sent around the country to secret locations to engage in various sporting and physical challenges.
Members were then split into random teams for a light-hearted quiz with the aim of encouraging attendees to interact and develop new business connections.
At half-time in the quiz, guests were joined in the room by Joe Burgess who talked openly about his time in the NRL and his return to the Club before taking questions from the floor.
The eventual winner of the quiz was ‘The Embryos’ which comprised of Neil Singleton, Arena Group; Jane Dennis, Fairhursts Accountants; Steve Strachan, Bullen Plant Hire; Dave and Karen Gibson; Blue Sky Plumbing; Brian Cowan, Keytech Solutions; Philip Jones, PRJ Business Services; Jonathan Hicks; Mr & Mrs Hicks.
The next Business Club event, titled ‘Shaping the Industry - The Global Business of Rugby League’ takes place on Monday 13th February at the offices of KPMG in Manchester prior to the Warriors’ World Club Challenge clash against NRL Premiers, Cronulla Sharks and will include a panel of industry experts addressing various aspects of the globalisation of our great game of Rugby League.
