Reserves Game Postponed

Reserves Game Postponed

  • Wigan Warriors Reserves Game Postponed

  • Warriors Reserves were due to play Warrington on Saturday

  • Game called off due to lack of players

The Wigan Warriors Reserves fixture against Warrington Wolves scheduled for Saturday 8th April has been postponed.

The Warriors Reserves are unable to fulfil this fixture due a lack of players available.

Head of Youth, Matty Peet, said: “Whilst it’s unfortunate for the Reserves not to fulfil their fixture this weekend we have had no choice but to cancel the game.

“As a Club we are able to register 65 players and with the First Team missing as many as 12 players through injury at the moment coupled with the Under-19s game at Castleford on Saturday we simply don’t have enough players to field three teams this weekend.

“It is frustrating but we passionately believe in developing younger players and Reserve grade Rugby League and will continue to fight for an improvement to the competition.”
