Wigan Warriors can reveal that The Parachute Regiment Freefall Team will deliver the match ball with a jump into the DW Stadium as part of Sunday’s military-themed fixture against Catalans.

The Red Devils, official parachute display team of both The Parachute Regiment and the British Army, will headline an action-packed pre-match military celebration to mark Wigan Warriors’ signing of the Armed Forces covenant.

Corporal Nathan Connolly, Team Leader of The Red Devils Free Fall Team commented,

“As the Official Parachute Display Team of The British Army and The Parachute Regiment, it is a pleasure to have the opportunity to jump in to the Wigan Warriors fixture with Catalans Dragons to mark the Club’s signing of the Armed Forces Covenant. Look to the skies from 14.45 as we deliver the match ball in style!”

Taking place on St George’s Day, the Catalans fixture will feature various military displays including an abseil from the Royal Marines and archway formed of two artillery guns curtesy of 103 Regiment Royal Artillery as the teams enter the field.

Supporters will also have the opportunity to try their hand at various military challenges in the Fan Village prior to kick-off with photo opportunities available with military vehicles and hardware.

Wigan Warriors face Catalans Dragons at the DW Stadium on Sunday 23rd April with a pre-match military celebration set to take place alongside an action-packed line-up of live music and family entertainment.
