Sam Powell says Wigan need to bounce back after losing 54-4 at Castleford Tigers.
Powell, who became a father for the second time this week, scored Wigan’s only try as the Tigers ran in nine of their own to take the win.
Speaking after the game, Powell said: “It was a tough one to take.
“Castleford got the better of us and that is what disappoints us but we can’t sulk about it. We have got a big week coming up in training and then we play Salford so we will review the game and then go into Salford to make sure we get it right.
“It’s still pretty early on in the year, we’re not beating ourselves up about it. There are a lot of improvements that can be made but we have just got to do what we can now to get the win over Salford.
“Credit to Castleford though, they’re good with the ball but there is a long way to go until the end of the season. It’s disappointing for the fans but we will make sure that we bounce back against Salford and back in great shape.”
On becoming a father for the second time earlier this week, the 23-year-old said: “Me and my missus had baby Poppy and we’re over the moon with her.
“I haven’t actually been too tired this week. My missus is good with it because whenever I have training or a game then she will sort the baby out. My other little girl is really good now so it’s just about trying to get this one into a routine as quick as we can.”
