Wigan players set to feature in second round of World Cup
Romain Navarrete comes into France squad to face Australia
- Sean O’Loughlin and John Bateman set to play for England again
The squads have been announced for the second round of fixtures of the Rugby League with a number of Wigan players set to feature again.
France and Australia get the action underway in Canberra on Friday night with Wigan’s Romain Navarrete named at number 16 in the 21-man squad.
England will look to pick up their first win of the tournament on Saturday when they take on Lebanon at Sydney Football Stadium. Wigan skipper Sean O’Loughlin will again lead the national side from Loose Forward with John Bateman retaining his place at Centre. George Williams comes into the 21-man squad and is named at number 18.
New Zealand take on Scotland in Christchurch on Saturday, Tommy Leuluai named at number 18 for the Kiwis as they come up against Steve McCormack’s Bravehearts.
Finally, following their impressive first round win over Italy, Ireland take on Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby on Sunday with Michael Mcilorum again named at Hooker. Jack Higginson is named in the squad at number 21.
