  • Fans invited to vote on top Australian-Wigan moment

  • Club panel draws up best 50 moments

  • Countdown begins on social media

Voting is now open to decide the greatest Australian-Wigan moment of all time.

The club recently asked fans on social media to list the best moments that involved Australia, either by way of an Australian-born Wigan player or a game or event involving an Australian side.

A Club panel has drawn up the top 50 moments and fans can vote to decide the top 15 places.

Communications Executive, Tim Fisher, said: “With the team heading to New South Wales next year and the history between Wigan and Australia we decided what better way to mark this than by looking back on our history and finding the best Australian-Wigan moment!

“The initial response from fans was great who reminded us of some fantastic memories and there are some huge moments to take into consideration when voting.

“Whether it be one of the Four World Club Challenge wins over Australian teams, Pat Richards bowing out a Grand Final winner or Brett Kenny’s incredible performance in the 1985 Challenge Cup Final Wigan and Australia has helped to create some of the sports biggest ever moments.

“We’ve drawn up a shortlist of 15 for fans to vote on and we can’t wait to see which one comes out on top.”

The countdown begins today with the Warriors revealing the top 50 moments each day on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
