Starting on Wednesday 15th November 2017, Wigan Warriors coaches will be heading to St Edmund Arrowsmith High School to deliver a Rugby League session for local girls of all ages who are current under 8s going in to under 9s next season.
The sessions are free to attend and are aimed at all abilities even participants who have never played before. The session will start at 6pm, finishing at 7pm and will run fortnightly. The Foundation is currently delivering 8 outreach community sessions across the borough which are new for 2017/18. The sessions are being supported by a number of partners which include SKYTRY, Big Community Network, Better Neighbourhood Fund, Street Games and The DEAL in Wigan.
Talking about the session, Joel Smith form Wigan Warriors Community Foundation said ‘This is a great opportunity for current Rugby League players in and around the Ashton area and also people wanting to try out for this first time. We hope the sessions will be well attended with a mixture of both boys and girls of all abilities. We would also like to thank Ashton Bears ARLFC and St Edmund Arrowsmith high school for their support with the sessions and we look forward to making them a real success.
