Year in Review: NSW Tour

Warriors make huge announcement

As 2017 draws to a close and 2018 edges ever closer we take a look back on the year that was and look forward to the year ahead.

Wigan made a huge announcement in July that the Club would take a Super League game to New South Wales next season.

The Warriors, along with Destination New South Wales and Destination Wollongong had pulled together a three-game Super League tour.

The Warriors no strangers to Australia having played the 2014 World Club Challenge in Sydney.

Or to doing something different - Wigan took the 2015 game against Catalans on the road to London.

The Warriors would face off against Hull FC at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday 10th February 2018.

The game will be the first time a Super League game has been played outside of Europe.

A week later, Wigan would go head to head with South Sydney Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium.

Whilst Hull would face St George Illawarra Dragons beforehand, the first time Super League and NRL sides have faced off against each other in back to back games.

The tour will take place in February 2018 as the Warriors break new ground.
