Guisset Hopes for Wolves Support
Catalans Dragons French international forward Jerome Guisset is hoping for fans of his former club Warrington to get behind his current team Catalans for the forthcoming Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-final on Sunday. Guisset enjoyed a long and successful career at Warrington before leaving to join the Warriors in 2005 and then joining his home town team as they entered engage Super League at the start of 2006. He will return to Warrington with the Catalans to lead the Dragons in what could be described as the biggest game in the club's short history. And the tough front rower - who recently captained France in the Frontline Test - says he would love backing from the fans who used to cheer him on when he wore the primrose and blue shirt. "One of my greatest memories from my time as a Warrington player was the noise that the supporters could generate. It really gave the boys massive encouragement when they were playing and I'd like to think that the Wolves fans would become Dragons supporters for semi-final weekend only and shout for us in the same way"; said Guisset. "The Halliwell Jones Stadium is really atmospheric, it really does make a difference to the players." Guisset added: "Although there will be plenty of Catalans supporters travelling to Warrington for the semi-final, I think the Wigan fans will outnumber them so it would be superb if the Warrington fans could become Dragons for the day and make a massive noise. This will be an awesome game and I'm sure there'll be plenty of excitement." "The chance to qualify to be the first non-English club to appear in a Challenge Cup Final and to play in the first final at the new Wembley Stadium make this game a massive occasion."
