Tommy Named In Kiwis 19 For First Test
Warriors scrum-half Thomas Leuluai has been named in New Zealand's 19-man squad for the first Test against Great Britain at Huddersfield on Saturday.
The Warriors scrum half has been named in coach Gary Kemble's initial squad, along with Bradford three-quarters Shontayne Hape and Tame Tupou.
Leuluai said,
"I was going home for a rest.It's been a long season and a hard season but I think my form towards the end picked up.
"It's always an honour playing for the Kiwis and, if you get the opportunity, you are never going to say no.
"I never said no before even though I've been in worse form. I enjoy being here around my mates."
Depending on the Great Britain final squad for the clash, Tommy could come up against his club skipper Sean O'Loughlin who has now recovered fully from a hand injury.
Great Britain Coach Tony Smith confirmed on Monday that Jamie Peacock would captain the Lions for the three game series against New Zealand. A reminder the Third Test takes place here at the JJB Stadium on Saturday 10th November 2007 with a 6.15pm kick off.
