Fielden Set for Biggest Year

wiganwarriors.com caught up with Stuart Fielden, fresh from getting married.

The world record signing admitted that he struggled with his form at times in 2007.

Stuart said:

"I needed to get last year outof the way and (during the close season) the big thing for me was about getting my desire back.

"Missing out on GB and not playing too well last year took me to a crossroads."

Head Coach Brian Noble spotted this and told Fielden to treat himself.

"He said go away, forget about rugby and enjoy yourself, get fat, but I couldn't do the latter one, I couldn't let myself go" admitted the Yorkshire-based prop.

Fielden also used the close-season, his first full rest period in over 7 years, to sort out some niggling injuries and he is expecting to return for the first game of engage Super League XIII. He is now more determined than ever to repeat his world clas form of 2006.

"My first goal is to play well for Wigan" he said. "I'm determined to have my best year for Wigan and my big goal is to have the best year of my career."
