John joins the organisation from Wigan Sports Development Unit where he was employed in a similar position for the past 3 years with the responsibility of developing sport across the borough.
John brings with him a wealth of experience within both sports development and the sport of Rugby League. Additionally John is heavily involved with Rugby League at a local and regional level as a coach and has also had experience of working with a professional club in the past at Sheffield Eagles.
Warriors Marketing Director Simon Collinson said:
“We are delighted to have John on board as he will be a great addition to our off-the-field team. He is charged with developing our community activities and will primarily be responsible for introducing rugby league to more people in both Wigan and surrounding areas.”
The role will focus on increasing levels of participation within Rugby League and will offer every citizen in Wigan the opportunity to be involved with the sport and the Warriors.
