Warriors Hold Inaugural Festival

Wigan Warriors in conjunction with Tesco and Sportsmatch held their inaugural “Warriors Tag Festival” at St Edmund Arrowsmith last week.

The festival was attended by over 60 young people from the primary schools in and around the town of Ashton and was won by Our Lady’s Immaculate primary school.

Held at St Edmund Arrowsmith secondary school the festival was the culmination of a seven week coaching programme that the Warriors community team had delivered in the schools.

The event was attended by Joel Tomkins and Thomas Coyle from the Warriors first team with each child attending receiving a medal and certificate to commemorate their efforts.

Community development Manager, John Winder commented:

“The festival was a tremendous event and a first for the club with a fantastic amount of talent on display.

"The afternoon provided the young people involved with an excellent opportunity to showcase the skills they have learned over the past seven weeks”.
