All have experience of playing representative rugby league for the Service Area and for North West Counties whilst five have also represented England at schoolboy rugby league level.

The local 15/16 year olds who have put pen to paper are Ian Thornley, Declan McLoughlin, Ryan King, Logan Tomkins, Jack Hughes, Matthew Sarsfield, Jack Murphy, Kieron Harrison and Liam Thompson.

Also signed are Anthony Bowman (pictured bottom right) from Siddall, Halifax who has been in the Wigan Scholarship System since September 2007 and Adam Davies (pictured top right) from Newport in South Wales who joins the Wigan Academy direct from playing rugby union in Wales.

"The future strength and success of the Wigan club in the Salary Cap era will depend upon bringing talented young players through the Wigan Academy System. I know our Coaching Staff have high hopes for these latest additions. What is particularly pleasing is that nine of the players have developed their rugby talents within local schools and amateur clubs. I would like to welcome them to the Club and wish them all well."

Wigan Warriors Youth Development and Performance Manager, Brian Foley added:

"We are delighted to have been able to sign these quality young players and we are excited about what they can achieve. The future is looking very bright within Wigan’s Scholarship and Academy Schemes."
