The Community team will be visiting 4 lucky schools in the area to deliver their ‘lessons for life’ schools programme, whilst also visiting 2 local amateur clubs to deliver coach and club development sessions.
On Thursday 2nd April the Warriors will visit Ulverston ARLFC (Ulverston Sports Club, Dragley Beck, Priory Road, LA12 4RH) and Barrow Island ARLFC (Rating Lane, Ostley Bank, Barrow in Furness, LA13 9LR) on Friday 3rd April.
At Barrow Island the Community Team will be delivering 2 development sessions. A practical coach development session ‘tackle technique and winning the ruck’ will be accompanied by a club development session ‘successful sponsorship for amateur sports clubs.’
The practical session will begin at 6.30pm with up to 20 places available for coaches from any south Cumbrian rugby league club and will be delivered by Warriors Community Development Officer and England Students Ladies Head Coach Amanda Wilkinson. Warriors Community Development Manager Mike Watson will deliver the ‘successful sponsorship’ session, starting at 7.30pm with up to 20 places available too.

In addition, the Warriors will also have a full range of merchandise available to be purchased at the development sessions from the Warriors mobile retail unit. The 2009 Warriors Home and Away kits will be available, along with a selected range of Warriors training wear and accessories.

The Warriors Community Team are working with the Raiders on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th to deliver 3 coaching clinics for south Cumbrian youngsters. The Warriors merchandise will be also be available at all of these sessions and will be open to the general public throughout.
