Warriors Stars Visit Camp

Warriors Stars Visit Camp

The last Warriors Rugby Camp of the summer was at Robin Park this week. The children who attended were in for an extra special treat however when they were visited by Warrior stars Chris Tuson, Amos Roberts and Darrell Goulding and Stuart Fielden, who had kindly taken time out from their table topping exploits.

The Warriors stars got straight into the thick of the action by taking part in a round of ‘Warrior Ball' with Tuson and Goulding covering bases while Fielden was on bowling duties.

Dave Clark, Community Rugby Coach, said, "It was clear by the look on the children's faces just how thrilled they actually were to be playing alongside their heroes."

Stuart Fielden was asked if it hurt when you get tackled, he responded in a simple fashion "No..." but quickly added "Only the day after, but that's part of being a rugby player!"

After the question and answer session the players held a signing session with the players signing shirts and memorabilia that the children had brought along with them.

Community Development Officer Amanda Wilkinson told us, "These players are great role models for the children and it's good to see the children taking in everything the players say, word for word."

Why not join in and enjoy the celebrations when your heroes lift the League Leaders Shield at the DW Stadium on Friday 3rd September before getting behind them in their quest for grand final glory.

The Next Camp will be 25/26th October at the Co-operative Community Stadium in Orrell. A place on the camp will cost just £35 and will even include a junior season ticket for the upcoming season.
