Wigan Set For Another Title

Following Wigan Warriors recent success in securing the Engage Super League XV League Leadership and their victory in the Carnegie Floodlit 9's, the Club could be set to take the title of Super League's Best Supported Club at their final home game of the season against Bradford Bulls on Friday (3rd September, 8pm).

The Warriors nearest rivals are Leeds Rhinos who have now completed their regular season at home, recording an aggregate crowd of 199,619 from their 13 games, an average of 15,355.

So far Wigan have recorded an aggregate of 187,344 from 12 regular season home games, and a crowd of 12,656 or more would see them break the 200,000 attendance aggregate and surpass the Rhinos average crowd, thus making Wigan the Best Supported Club in Engage Super League.

It would also be their second highest average crowd since the move to the JJB / DW Stadium in 1999, only beaten by the average of 16,039 which was recorded in 2007.

Wigan Warriors Marketing Director Simon Collinson commented:

"So far 2010 has been a great season for the Warriors and Friday night will be a fitting celebration before we re-focus on the playoffs and our ultimate goal of a Grand Final victory.

"Our fans have been magnificent all season and have again demonstrated why we were the first rugby club to award them the squad number 18 in recognition of their loyal support."

Following the game against Bradford Bulls, Wigan will be presented with the League Leaders Shield before performing the annual Lap of Appreciation where the players will thank the fans for their support throughout the season. The night will also see a number of other celebrations and events to mark Wigan's first silverware for 10 years, and these will be unveiled during the week.

Tickets are now on sale for the game, with season ticket holders reminded that this will be their last opportunity to bring 6 friends to a game for just £30 using the Scrum Ticket offer, with tickets available from the DW Stadium Ticket Office, the Ticket Hotline on 0871 66-33-552 and online at Warriors E-Tickets.
