As 2010 comes to an end, a year which saw the Wariors crowned Super League Champions, the players and coaching staff are well into their preparations for 2011 and the big kick off in Cardiff against Saints on the 12th February.
Looking ahead Head Coach Michael Maguire told us he is looking to build on the success of the season gone for 2011.
"We've got a good group of players here who are working hard and we're really looking forward to the new season. We're looking forward to seeing some improvements from where we left off last season.
"We are still trying to build as a group. As much as we got the success at the end of last season, there's still a lot that we're trying to achieve here.
"Leeds and St helens have led the way for a long time in this competition so we're certainly trying to build on what we did last season."
On the three new arrivals of Jeff Lima, Ryan Hoffman and Brett Finch from Melbourne, Michael added,
"They've all got experience and they bring a lot of professionalism. They are excellent players who have been part of a great culture in Melbourne. They are all hard working and will offer us a lot."
Wigan start their pre-season games on Sunday 16th January with a clash against Salford at the Willows and will come up against former players Iafeta Paleaaesina,, Phil Bailey as well recent capture Wayne Godwin and on the coaching staff Phil Veivers. The game is likely to see the debuts of Lima, Hoffman and Finch in Warriors colours. The game will have a 3pm kick off.
On the 23rd a mix of 20's and first team players head to Barrow for a Testimonal game at Craven Park, 3pm kick off.
