The development of our own Club Trained players is vitally important to the continued success of the Wigan Club. Players like Sean O'Loughlin, Liam Farrell and Joel and Sam Tomkins have all followed this pathway from the Academy and Reserve sides into the First Team Squad and there is an opportunity at Wigan for these players to develop in the same way with their continued hard work."

Rugby General Manager, Kris Radlinski added:

"We are delighted to have signed so many of our young players on professional contracts. The Under 16's had a tremendous season and these players have proved they have the attributes to step up to the Academy side."

Head of Youth, John Winder commented:

"These young players have all worked extremely hard and there is some real quality and potential amongst this squad of players. They all deserve the opportunity to progress into our 18's squad and we look forward to seeing some of them in action this weekend."
