188BET give Wigan Warriors shirt sponsorship to Joining Jack
Warriors to wear special shirt against Catalans this weekend
- Shirts to be auctioned off at the end of the season
Wigan Warriors will wear a one-off kit this weekend against Catalans with Joining Jack set to be given the main sponsorship position for the day.
Due to restrictions in France Main Partners 188BET are unable to take their place on the front of the Warriors alternate shirt and have kindly allowed for the prestigious position to go to Joining Jack.
Joining Jack is the charity set up in support of Jack Johnson, the son of former Wigan player Andy Johnson, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
The group formed in 2011 and have worked alongside the Warriors since with a special Joining Jack shirt worn by Wigan against St Helens in 2012 and the Joining Jack Legends game held in 2014 ahead of the Big One against Leeds.
The Warriors have also helped raise the profile of the Wigan 10K as official partners this year.
The charity have gone from strength to strength raising huge amounts of funding for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy with the Wigan 10K now the flagship event for the charity.
Rugby Director, Kris Radlinski, said:
“It is a fantastic gesture from the 188BET to give their position on the front of the shirt to Joining Jack and the exposure the charity receives will be great.
“The Wigan Club is proud to be able to support the Joining Jack charity again. The charity is very close to all of our hearts and the people of Wigan simply cannot do enough for Joining Jack. We are delighted to be able to wear the Joining Jack logo across our chest and I urge everyone who follows Wigan to sign up to the Wigan 10K right away. See you on the start line!”
Alex Johnson, co-founder of Joining Jack and mother to Jack Johnson said:
“The shirt looks great and hopefully the Joining Jack logo can bring the team a bit of luck for the game this weekend.
“It’s such a lovely gesture to think of us and help to spread awareness of Duchenne and what we are trying to achieve.
“Andy and I are so proud of the club and how much support they give not only to Joining Jack but to us as a family. One of the loudest cheers when they walk out on Saturday will be from Jack.”
The shirts worn by the player will be available for auction at the end of the year with all proceeds going to Joining Jack.
