Today marks anniversary of the untimely death of former Wigan and Great Britain player Terry Newton who took his own life in 2010.
1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in the UK each year and partly in response to the issues raised by Terry’s death State of Mind began.
State of Mind think about all people who have been bereaved in such tragic circumstances and the impact this can have on families, friends and communities.
Since 2010 30 people have informed State of Mind that they have changed their minds about taking their own lives by attending a State of Mind fixture or mental fitness session.
State of Mind continue to deliver education sessions and strive to improve the mental fitness of all those involved in rugby league and sport in general
