Eight Wigan U19s featured in Lancashire’s 36-6 win over Yorkshire in the second Academy Origins fixture of 2018.
Lancashire ran out comfortable winners over old rivals Yorkshire in at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington on Sunday (2nd September).
Half-back Harry Smith starred for the red rose county with the boot, converting all six tries put past Yorkshire. There were also tries for two Wiganers, prop Ethan Havard and winger Reece Hamlett.
Havard sprung on a loose kick to add four points early in the second half while Hamlett, fresh off the back of scoring two tries for the U19s against Castleford U19s, finished off a good passing move, diving over in the corner in the 59th minute.
The other Wigan U19s involved for Lancashire in the Academy Origins fixture were James McDonnell, Joe Horrocks, Nathan Wilde and Aiden Roden. Wigan youngster Morgan Smithies featured in the starting line-up for Yorkshire, going toe-to-toe his six Cherry & Whites teammates.
