Wigan Warriors players & staff set out to tackle 14 different community projects around the local area.
One of the biggest projects involved washing as many of the emergency service vehicles as possible throughout the day.
Smaller projects included visits to local care homes to spend time with elderly residents in Wigan and the surrounding area.
Working alongside Wigan Council, one project team rolled up their sleeves to help clean sheltered accommodation in the area.
With the npower Wigan Warriors Community Blitz taking place in December, it made for a perfect opportunity to erect Christmas trees in local schools. Here, Wigan Winger Dom Manfredi helps a young fan add the finishing touch to their tree.
As you might expect there was also plenty of rugby focused projects. One of the many coaching sessions involved Wigan’s Physical Disability Rugby League group.
The Blitz gave the Warriors a good opportunity to get out and visit Community Rugby Clubs in the local area, giving youngsters the chance to meet their heroes.
A number of projects focused on providing food, clothes and other supplies to homeless shelters in Wigan.
The final project saw the teams work long into the night, giving a fresh coat of paint to a local Women’s Refuge, Homeless Shelter and Community Centre.
