Warriors Launch Staff Wellbeing Programme

Wigan Warriors have marked World Mental Health Day by launching an internal wellbeing programme for the Club’s backroom and office staff.

The wellbeing programme is designed to take a holistic approach to wellbeing by encouraging staff to place equal focus on their mental, emotional, and physical health than their day-to-day work responsibilities.

The programme will include fitness sessions, yoga, and guided meditation sessions, giving staff opportunities to increase activity levels and/or time out to relax and de-stress.

Claire Taylor, Wigan Warriors Community Foundation Health & Wellbeing Manager: “We hope the programme will have a positive impact on workplace culture; helping staff to connect better to the people around them which will promote a sense of unity and harmony in the workplace.

“Just taking 10 mins away from your desk to meditate can help you to relax and de-stress. When practised on a regular basis, meditation can help staff to deal with emotional triggers and manage stress more effectively. Regular meditation can help boost work performance, cultivate a positive culture and improve employee wellness.”
