Community Blitz to return

Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce that the Community Blitz will return for its third edition on Wednesday 4th December, with this year’s project set to be delivered in conjunction with Wigan Council.

Having recently launched Our Town, a major campaign aimed at celebrating Wigan borough’s sense of community pride, Wigan Council have given its backing to the ground-breaking project.

Wigan Warriors players, officials and staff are set to spend the entire day travelling around the borough to support a range of deserving projects, chosen from a wide range of community investment fund projects and Our Town initiatives, to spread community cheer prior to Christmas.

Wigan Warriors Executive Director, Kris Radlinski, said: “We are very proud of how the Wigan Warriors Community Blitz has made a significant impact in our community. The concept of professional players and staff spending an entire day giving back to the community is something that is unique within professional sport but something we are incredibly proud of. We look forward to working closely with Wigan Council and our partners to deliver another successful and memorable day for both our Club and the community.”

Councillor David Molyneux, leader of the council, added: “It is fantastic to see Wigan Warriors getting stuck in with the community and to have them supporting Our Town as part of their annual volunteering. The campaign is all about celebrating where we live, increasing pride in communities and giving something back. I want to say a big thank you to them for their enthusiasm and involvement which will be gratefully received by residents.”
