Job: Head of Analysis

Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club is recruiting a Head of Analysis to provide detailed pre and post-match analysis for direct use by the Head Coach and coaching staff.

About the Company

Established in 1872, Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club is a leading rugby league club, achieving outstanding success having been crowned Champions on 22 occasions, winners of the Challenge Cup 19 times and World Club Champions on four occasions. The Head of Analysis will provide detailed pre and post-match analysis for direct use by the Head Coach and coaching staff. They will also be responsible for live matchday analysis support and collaborating with all other staff to continually enhance the standards of performance analysis provision throughout the club.

Job Overview

The role:

  • Capture and code training and matches to the requirements of the Head Coach.

  • Collate and present statistical data to the coaching staff & players.

  • Support the coaching staff to provide pre and post-match analysis.

  • Manage and drive the clubs innovative appraisal software system.

  • Enable and encourage players to engage with video analysis.

  • Offer in game analysis for coaches & players.

  • Produce bespoke video as and when required.

  • Provide performance analysis training and support for club staff.

  • Creating and maintaining databases for trend analysis.

  • Support recruitment processes with video and data.

The Person:

  • Adaptable approach to changing circumstances.

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to the team goal.

Experience and education:

  • At least two-year’s experience working within a professional sports club.

  • High level of competence in using video editing software.

  • Experienced in gathering and presenting statistical and analytical data.

  • Skilled in translation of high volume of data into concise and engaging documentation for coaching staff and players

  • Proficient in use of filming equipment to produce high quality footage.
