Introducing: The Lilacs

  • Wigan four-piece, The Lilacs, announced as live act for Robin Park Arena Fan Zone ahead of Thursday’s game against Toronto Wolfpack.

  • The Fan Zone is open from 5:30pm and takes place on the indoor running track.

  • Wigan Warriors vs Toronto Wolfpack (DW Stadium, 13th February, K.O. 7:45pm.).

For every home game this season, Wigan Warriors will host a number of up and coming musicians at the Robin Park Arena matchday Fan Zone.

This week, local band, The Lilacs, will be taking to the stage both before and after the Club’s first ever encounter against Toronto Wolfpack at the DW Stadium (K.O. 7:45pm).

The Wigan four-piece is comprised of vocalist Ollie Anglesea, lead guitarist Sam Birchall, drummer Dave Gomersall and bassist Matty Johnson.

Since forming, the band have released three singles: Vicarage Road, Something or Nothing and Seen It All, and have enjoyed a number of shows up and down the country.

Ahead of Thursday’s set, Birchall said: “As local lads, who are really keen to get our name out there this year. We’re really looking forward to playing at the Wigan Warriors Fan Zone. Hopefully, the people of Wigan like our music and will get behind us on our journey. Up The Lilacs x”

The Fan Zone opened for Wigan’s Round 1 fixture with Warrington Wolves two weeks ago.

The Fan Zone takes place in the indoor running track at Robin Park Arena, which is located next door to the DW Stadium.

To gain entrance you need only to show your matchday or Season Ticket.
